Countervail® is a noise and vibration-canceling laminate technology developed for composite structures needing to improve dynamic performance without incurring weight penalties.  Our customers are manufacturers of high-performance components that demand an optimal balance of weight, stiffness and vibration control.  Our technology combines traditional damping layer concepts with a patented fiber preform to deliver experimentally-proven, unparalleled vibration canceling. 

Our materials have been engineered to integrate seamlessly into existing tooling and composite manufacturing processes.  Our standard material form is a thin (< 0.5 mm) layer that includes an epoxy resin for co-curing into any composite component that needs to control vibrations, increase service life or needs quieting.  We also manufacture materials that include a fire retardant-rated laminating resin, dry layers for use in resin infusion or wet laminating manufacturing processes and pre-cured thin laminate sheets that can be bonded onto existing components to reduce vibrations.  Several sizes of pre-manufactured lightweight highly damped carbon fiber epoxy tubes and plates are also available from Countervail Products LLC for use in robotics, aeronautics, and other high-performance assemblies.
